Why we like it: We've tried various fountains, this model/style is one of the easier to clean styles, it never gets that slimy feel like the plastic ones do, almost everything comes apart so you can really clean and sanitize thoroughly. Good Housekeeping: Scoop your litter box a minimum of 1x a day regardless of the type of litter used. Cats are clean animals and do not want to use a dirty box. Twice a day is best if you can. Fully replace litter every 4-8 weeks as needed.

This is THE BEST litter we have tried. Unlike most clumping or scented litters, it is safe both for you your pets and little people in the home as it's made from natural materials and is unscented.
It clumps really well and masks the smell decently and unlike most that claim dust free, this one actually is. Because of it's sand like granules, it works great for longhair coats & doesn't stick to the fur. It's light color makes it easy to see any changes in urine color or quantity, and #2 helping you monitor your cat's health easier.

We currently do not use ANY robotic litter boxes. So why is this here? Robotic litter boxes are super hyped up but is it worth the investment? We have friends who LOVE them and others who don't. When they work properly they are super easy to use, control smell, and keep the box extra clean for your fur baby. They also have a good track record for customer service.
On the flip side, I personally don't want the risk of a kitty getting injured if the electrical mechanism fails and my cat's paw gets stuck (which happens on occasion check out YouTube). They are also the MOST difficult to clean as there are many parts and it has to be fully disassembled to be cleaned and sanitized thoroughly. We also LOVE our non toxic litter and not all robotic boxes are compatible, most require a particular one to function properly.
However, if you have older kittens/cats who meet the weight requirement, don't mind the space it takes, and want to simplify your routine, there are plenty of happy customers who would support you.
